Creating a report based on custom profile attributes

Adobe Campaign’s Dynamic Reports is a flexible freeform environment where you can explore data by including custom profile attributes. It allows you to combine dimensions, metrics, and time range in any combination, with unlimited breakdowns and comparisons.

This video explains how to create a report based on custom profile attributes.

Transcript
In this video we’re gonna take a look at using Custom Profile Attributes in Dynamic Reporting.
So we have extended this profile resource by adding a custom attribute called Segment, which is of type drop-down list and has values gold, silver and bronze. Now to be able to use this custom profile attribute in Dynamic Reporting, certain steps need to be followed. The first step is to go into Adobe Campaign here. Click on the administration icon, and then the development icon and click on the custom resources.
Here we’re gonna open up the profile resource.
Collapse the Fields section and extend the Sending logs extension section here. As you can see, that already have two custom attributes here, is interested in and, is loyalty program member attributes that have been added and enabled for Dynamic Reporting. So if you want to enable our new profile, custom profile called Segments, we need to add that here. Click on add field, select this option and search for Segments. So here we’re gonna add our Segment custom profile attribute.
And make sure this checkbox is selected that enables this particular custom attribute to be used in Dynamic Reporting, then we click on Add. And then save your changes. Since we have made changes to our database, we need to publish these changes. And to publish these changes, we go to Adobe Campaign Administration, we go into Development, and click on Publishing here.
And then we click on Prepare publication and then follow the steps that will complete the publication of the changes that you have done.
Now that you have enabled the custom profile attribute to be used in Dynamic Reporting, and published those changes, and sent some deliveries after making those changes, it is time to use the Custom Profile Attributes in our reports. To do that, I open up the Report section here, and open the Delivery summary report which is provided to you out of the box. The Delivery summary report is fetching data from the last 30 days. And if you want to change the date range, you can simply click on it and change the date range to match your needs.
So these are these different panels which are showing data related to different metrics. For example this is the Delivery Rate, this is the Bounce Rate and Quarantines and so forth. And this is the table here. And these are the two deliveries that were done in the last 30 days. And this is the data related to those two deliveries. So here, I want to use my custom profile attribute. So to do that, I go into the profile dimension and it list the various attributes related to this particular profile. In this case, some of them are out of the box and some are custom attributes. For example, Segment is the custom profile attribute that we had added in the earlier video. So now I can simply track this Segment attribute and put it in my testing only delivery and it shows me the deliveries for bronze, silver and gold. And to read this data, you would do it in such a ways. So for Unique Clicks, the bronze member has the highest 413 followed by silver and gold. So you can even customize this Unique Clicks to show the percentage, so that it shows you that 44% of the bronze members had Unique Clicks whereas 27% of gold members had Unique Clicks. So this way you can easily add custom profile attribute to a particular delivery to slice and dice the data.
