Export a project to Microsoft Project

You can export Adobe Workfront projects to Microsoft Project.

IMPORTANT
  • Not all Workfront fields are transferred in the Microsoft Project file.
    For more information about the compatibility of fields between Workfront and Microsoft Project, see the article Map Microsoft Project fields to Adobe Workfront projects.
  • We recommend that you limit the number of times you transfer projects from one application to another.

Access requirements

You must have the following access to perform the steps in this article:

Adobe Workfront plan*
Any
Adobe Workfront license*
Review or higher
Access level configurations*

View or higher access to Projects

NOTE

If you still don’t have access, ask your Workfront administrator if they set additional restrictions in your access level. For information about access to projects, see Grant access to projects. For information on how a Workfront administrator can change your access level, see Create or modify custom access levels.

*To find out what plan, license type, or access you have, contact your Workfront administrator.

Export a project from Workfront to Microsoft Project

You can export a project from Workfront from the project page or from a project list or report.

  1. Go to the project you want to export and click the More icon to the right of the project name

    Or

    Go to a project list or report and select a project, then click the More icon at the top of the list.

  2. Click  Export MS Project.

    The project is downloaded as an XML file to your computer and it is ready to be imported into Microsoft Project.
